Postdoctoral fellowship: The Drew lab (www.drew-lab.org) at Penn State is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for a project studying the neural basis of nightmares. The fellow will join an interdisciplinary, multi-lab team with the Crowley (Crowley-lab.org) and Zhang (https://sites.psu.edu/zhanglab1/) labs investigating the neural circuitry underlying nightmares in a mouse model. The position is funded by a grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation. Initial appointment is for a year, with the possibility of renewal for up to two more years.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. The candidate should have at least one first author publication, either published or submitted. The successful candidate should have a solid programming background and ideally will have experience with DeepLabCut or other behavior tracking packages. Experience with in vivo imaging, small animal surgery, fiber photometry, or sleep physiology would be helpful, but is not required.
